Seasons are six. But they are mainly summer , monsoon, autumn, winter and spring. Summer comes first. It starts from April and ends in June. It is the hottest season of the year. Ponds,tanks and rivers are dry up. This season is blessed with fruits etc. Then comes the monsoon to cool the earth . Clouds cover the sky. Tanks and ponds get up filled. But the heavy rain causes floods. Next comes autumn. The sky gets clear and beautiful. It is the season of festivals. Durga puja,the greatest festival of Bengal is held now. The winter comes in November and lasts up to January. These are the cold months. It is the time of greatest festivals of the Christians. It is the time of fruits,feasts,fairs, festivals and function. Next appears spring with beautiful flowers and pleasant weather. It is the season of beauty and pleasantness. Thus completes the cycle of seasons.
