The proverb ' Baro mase tero parban ' proves that Bengales are found of festivals. Bengali year begins with 'Navabarsha' on 25 th Baisak we observe Rabindra Jayanti. The independence day, the republic day, the birth days of Gandhiji, Nataji are also observed as national festivals. In autumn we observe our greatest festival Durga Puja. It is an occasion of putting on new dresses, joy and merriment. Then comes Laxmi puja . It is held in every home for wealth. Next we get kali puja and Dewali. Students worship Saraswati Puja . We also observe Rathyatra , Holi, Nabanna, Vatridwitiya, Rakhi purnima etc. The Muslims observe the Id Maharam, etc. The Christians observe X-Mas, Good Friday etc. On such occasions people mix together with the sprit of brother hood. Thus festivals destroy separation , give us joy and pleases our mind above all.

The man whom I admire most is my father. He is a farmer by profession. Everyday he works hard to maintain our family. He has no education. He is simple in nature,gentle in behavior , honest and affectionate. He always advise me to be disciplined and punctual. He teaches me to respect elders and loves the younger. Though he works hard , he never calls me to work. He thinks one day I shall be an educated man and spread education among the poor. He always thinks about me and my brother. In future I shall be a teacher and teach the poor and fulfill my father's dream

When I read 'Pather Panchali ' for the first time, I fell in love with Bibhuti Bhusan Bandyopadhyay. Indeed he is my favourite writer. The writer wrote 'Aaranyak','  Ichhamati ' , ' Adarsha  Hindu Hotel ' etc. He feeds my heart. His works stir my inner being . When ever I read 'Pather Panchali'. I listen to the sad music of humanity. I feel how nature nurturers us. Almost all his novel show that man is a perennial traveller . He pulls himself up to fight against odds. The little joy and sorrows, smilies  and tears constitute the stuff of his works. He is neither a teacher nor a preacher. He is a lover of life and nature. So I can not but admire and respect him.

Mid day meal is a new scheme under taken by west Bengal and other states of India to provide free Mid day Meal to the students of primary and upper primary school. The motto of this scheme is "Eat together , learn together". It conveys a message of togetherness among the students. The most important aspect of this scheme is not only to provide free meal to many poor students but also to sure them to come to school every day. Thus the introduction of mid day meals has created enthusiasm among the poor students to continue their studies. So the number of drop outs has considerably  decreased. But the scheme has faced a few criticisms. Lack of infrastructure is one of the problems. It hampers teaching learning process to some extent. Yet this scheme is a potent tool to illiteracy from our country

Illiteracy is a curse on nation and there are almost 35% illiterate people in India. So the government of India has started ''Sarba siksha Mission''. It is an educational policy and its aim is to bring every child to school. The government has started on school going at last to class 8. To attract children towards educations the government has started mid day meal. The members of teachers and classrooms are also increased and syllabus, examination system are revised. This policy has decreased drop out problems. So we are hopeful that India will grow as a fully literature country in near future.

Global warming means increase of average  temperature in the atmosphere. The main reason of global warming is the emission big green house gases like carbon dioxide, CH4  , CFC etc. Besides burning of fuel in cars and factories emits harmful gases in the air. Atomic research and test fire of atom bombs also cause the global warming. It destroys the ozon layer. As a result of the global warming polar ice caps and ice bergs melt down and water level in seas and rivers swells. The sea and river side cities , villages in the world may be destroyed. Desert may be expanded. The weather may be extreme. It may cause the extinction of plants and animals. In a word natural disasters like flood,acid rain may be the result of global warming. We can control of global warming by increasing awareness. Using less electricity, using public transport, reduce the use of plastic and planting more trees. (100 Words)

Subhas Chandra Bose, known as Nataji was a great leader of India. He was born at Cuttack in Orissa on the 23 rd of January,1897. His father Janaki Nath Bose was a lawer. Subhas was a brilliant student. He went to England and became  ICS. He refuse to serve the British Raj. He joined the freedom movements. He was elected president of the Indian National Congress. Later he became the mayor of kolkata. He formed a party called the Forward Block. Subhas went to Japan and formed the Azad Hind Fauj to fight against the British Raj. His fierce named Indian National Army came to Manipur to free India. Netaji was reported to have died on air crash. His tast days were unknown. I love and admire this Hero for his love for country, power of a organization,  bravery , honesty and sacrifice for the country.

My favourite game is cricket. It is the most exciting outdoor game. It may be played on a large ground between two teams. Each team has eleven players. One team bats and the other team fields. There are two types of match in the cricket. One day match and test match. Recently twenty twenty match becomes more famous among the masses. The team which makes the larger number of runs wins. The cricket has many excellent points. It helps to make our body fit and strong. It teaches us discipline and sense of co-operation and value of team work. For all these reasons. On the evening of Monday. I with my parents started for the station. It was 24th January of last year. We planned to go to Murshidabad a place of historical importance. We availed ourselves of the Gour Express from Balurghat. I saw stations ,towns, villages and green fields on both sides of the railway line. I saw them in the starry night . Next morning the train touched Murshidabad station. We stayed there in a beautiful lodge. We hired a 'Tanga' a horse driven cart. After breakfast we set out to see the 'Hazarduari'. It is beautiful building with many real and false doors. The building is a museum to show the things of the Nawbab's time. Next day we went to Motijheel a big tank. We saw Katra Mosque. We crossed the Bhagirathi to see the siraj's tomb at Khusbay. We saw many things in ruins. At night we started for Balurghat. The memory of this visit will remain vivid in my mind.

Most people now studying science. The scope of science is wide now days. But I like arts most. They feed and fill my mind. I like to study language specially the English language. It is the language for trade and commerce, science and technology. International relations is based on this language. World famous book various subjects have been written in English. This is a very pleasant season. It covers two Bengali months "Falguni" and "Chaitra". It is a very pleasant season. It is neither too cold nor too hot. The sky becomes cloudless. Green grasses covers the field. New tender leaves appear on trees. Flowers like-Rose, Jasmine, Marigold s etc bloom. Fruits like apples, bananas, oranges grow in plenty now. Vegetables are cheap in this time. Birds sing all day. Spring is also a season of festivals. Festivals like Bashanti puja,Charak Puja ,Dol jatra, Saraswati Puja come of in this season. Thus spring brings happiness to everyone. So,we long for Rituraj Spring in line  "If winter comes can spring be far behind"

'My favourite Film' paragraph within 100 words

Recently I have seen a few film of them my favourite film is "Pather Panchali". Bibhuti bhusan Bondhapadhya worte the story of film and its detector was Satyajit Roy. "Pather Panchali" means something like a saga of life. It is not a novel narrated film in the comentional sense. It is a narration of day to day life of a poor village family on screen. The story deals with a poor village boy Apu who had to struggle a lot to overcome his poverty and suffering. Durga, Harihar and Sarbajaya are the other chief characters of this film. Harihar father of Apu was a poor village priest. Apu's sister Durga met a premature death. Apu could not forget his sister. From this story Satyajit Roy created superb film. He did not neglected any details. It's music composed by Ravi Shankar was also superb. I felt sympathy for the family. The film has universal appeal. To me it is not a film. It is a classic poem of life on screen.

The electric oven cooks our food quickly and fans cool us in a hot weather. Electricity is one of the greatest gifts of our times. With it we can cool our room,keep our food fresh. Electricity lights our houses and disappears darkness at night. In schools,colleges or offices whenever we use stationary,stamps,books,pens,and papers all are the products of science. Returning home we see different programme on T.V we can talk to other friends with the phone.  Medicines have saved us from deadly diseases. Thus we enjoy the fruits of science every day in our daily life.

A journey by boat is very pleasant to me. During the puja vacation I made a journey by boat named 'Jatribahi' with my family at Mahanande. We started at 10 AM from the Gangarampur ghat. We saw the sights on both sides of the river. At places we saw green grassy slopes coming down into the water. A big banayan tree thick with leaves low over the water at one place. The scenery was lovely. We saw some boats,sailing up and down the river. When a steamer passed by,the wave tossed over the boat and we enjoyed the sailing. We saw men ,women and children bathing and swimming about the ghat. Our heart leaped in joy when we saw the setting sun on the ripple of the river. At last the boat touched the bank with a bump. The memory of this journey will remain vivid in my mind.
